Muya Chang has been selected for the 2019 Taiwan Government Scholarship to Study Abroad (GSSA). Chang is a dual degree graduate student at Georgia Tech, where he is pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and M.S. in Computer Science. He is a member of the Integrated Circuits and Systems Research Lab and is advised by ECE Associate Professor Arijit Raychowdhury.
Chang received this award for his research on “high-performance circuits for continuous and discrete dynamical systems and their applications in learning and optimizations.” He is exploring computing architectures and circuit designs, which can implement complex dynamics and solve computationally hard problems.
The GSSA is a prestigious research award for Ph.D. students of Taiwanese origin and is aimed at supporting international studies. This highly competitive award is given to only 14 students each year. The award considers several factors, including innovation in research work, research milestones, publications, transcripts, institution ranking, and recommendation letters.
