Jongman Kim, an assistant professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Georgia Tech, has been selected for the 2013 Class of 1969 Teaching Fellows Program. This program is offered to a small group of professors each year by the Georgia Tech Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning.

The Class of 1969 Teaching Fellows Program is designed for early career professionals who want to develop their full teaching potential. During this academic-year-long experience, the Teaching Fellows will explore various aspects of teaching and learning in weekly seminars, receive private assistance with teaching, and undertake a project to improve student learning in one of their courses.

Dr. Kim joined the ECE faculty in August 2007, where he is a member of the computer systems and software technical interest group. His research and teaching interests are in the areas of multicore designs, heterogeneous system-on-chip architectures, information-communication-media convergence systems, emerging storage architecture, and hardware-assisted security.

“When I teach, I strive to show students how what they learn in class is used in real world applications. I also try to create an interactive class experience for the students where they use the latest equipment and software, and I host guest speakers from industry who make the material come to life,” Dr. Kim said. “By participating in the CETL Teaching Fellows Program, I look forward to exploring additional ways to make the learning process even more fun and applicable for my students.”
