Raymond C. Hill received two awards at the IEEE Power and Energy Society Protective Devices Committee meeting, held April 30-May 3, 2018 in Clearwater, Florida.
Hill is a senior research technologist at Georgia Tech’s National Electric Energy Testing Research and Applications Center (NEETRAC). He received the following honors at an awards ceremony on May 2:
- “IEEE-SA Standards Board acknowledges with appreciation Raymond Hill for contributing to the development of this standard, published February 17, 2017” – C62.44 IEEE Guide for the Application of Low-Voltage (1000 V rms or less) Surge Protective Devices Used on Secondary Distribution Systems (Between the Transformer Low-Voltage Terminals and the Line Side of the Service Equipment).
- “IEEE-SA Standards Board acknowledges with appreciation Raymond Hill for contributing to the development of this standard, published October 27, 2017” – C62.34 IEEE Standard for Test Methods and Performance of Low-Voltage (1000 V rms or less) Surge Protective Devices Used on Secondary Distribution Systems (Between the Transformer Low-Voltage Terminals and the Line Side of the Service Equipment).
Hill works in the areas of overhead high voltage test programs, underground high voltage test programs, fault testing, traveling wave phenomena on distribution and transmission power lines, and surge protective devices at NEETRAC. He has been with the Center since NEETRAC’s inception in January 1996.
