To Seek Permission to Drop a Class

To request permission to drop a class fill out the following form no later than 3:00 p.m. on Drop Day. Requests made after 3:00 p.m. will be not be processed.

WARNING: 

1. Do NOT stop attending class(es) until you have received confirmation from the ECE Academic Office that you have permission to drop/withdraw from school. We do not approve all requests to drop/withdraw.  

2. If you are permitted to drop a class, YOU must complete the drop procedure through the OSCAR system in order for the class to be removed from your schedule.

 

General Information

A decision regarding the request for approval to drop a class from school will be made and the student will receive notice of the decision via email. The hold on the student record of those whose requests are approved will be removed. Once advised that the hold is removed, it is the student's responsibility to complete the drop procedure. This is done electronically through the OSCAR system.

Requests for approval to drop a class made by any other method (phone call, email messages, visits to the ECE Graduate Affairs Office, etc.), including multiple requests, will not be processed.

Students who abuse the approval process by dropping classes other than the ones approved risk losing their funding or being considered "out of status" on their student visas.

Students are responsible for ensuring that the electronic drop procedure is completed through the OSCAR system before the deadline set by the Registrar's Office.
