Groundbreaking new invention from Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering improves the lives of campus squirrels.

While many research institutions have been actively working to solve challenges on the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) Grand Challenges for Engineering list since 2008, researchers in the Georgia Institute of Technology School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) have been silently working on another set of topics that impact humanity. A lesser known sister organization to NAE called the National Office of Parochial Engineering (NOPE) issued 15 Semi-Grand Challenges to science and technology experts in early 2015. They include current hot-button issues such as the zombie apocalypse, alien abductions, human head transplants, teleportation, and Microsoft Edge. The following video outlines a recent innovation from ECE Professor Tom Brewer and his team: the Squirrel Transformer.
