Chin-Hui Lee has been named the recipient of the 2012 ISCA Medal "for pioneering and seminal contributions to automatic speech and speaker recognition, including innovations in adaptive learning, discriminative training, and utterance verification." ISCA, which is short for International Speech Communication Association, is an organization that promotes activities and exchanges in all fields related to speech communication science and technology.
A professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech, Dr. Lee will receive this honor at INTERSPEECH 2012, which will be held September 9-13, 2012 in Portland, Ore., and he will give a keynote address after he is presented with this honor. The conference is the world's largest and most comprehensive technical conference focused on speech and language processing and its applications.
