The Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Graduate Student Organization (GSO) introduced the next generation of leaders. 

After three impactful semesters of service, Richard Asiamah is passing the torch to a new team that will guide the GSO into the future.

“I am proud of the successes and impact my team and I have made over the past couple of semesters,” Asiamah said, reflecting on his tenure. “We continuously sought to enrich the student experience through the myriad of activities organized to build capacity, encourage socialization, and overall enhance graduate life at Georgia Tech.”

For the Fall 2025 semester, Himanshi Gupta, an ECE graduate student, will serve as president of the GSO. Beginning in Spring 2026, leadership will transition to Faaiq Waqar, a third-year Ph.D. student.

The organization is confident in the next generation of leadership and excited to see where they take the organization.

Both Gupta and Waqar have played active roles in the GSO over the past several semesters, contributing significantly to the planning and execution of many events.  

“At ECE GSO, we strive to make the graduate experience at Georgia Tech more engaging and collaborative by bringing together peers, faculty, and advisors in meaningful ways,” Gupta said. “From professional development to social gatherings, we host a wide range of events that foster connection and growth. I’m excited to work with an incredible team this year to further enhance the ECE community experience.”
