Saman is an Associate Professor with joint appointments in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and Cybersecurity and Privacy (SCP). Saman joined Georgia Tech in 2022 after eight years at Rutgers University, and three years at the University of Miami. Saman’s research focuses on security and privacy problems in cyber-physical systems such as critical infrastructures. Saman obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2011, and his B.Sc. from Sharif Institute of Technology in 2006. He is the recipient of the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) and Significant Research in Cyber Security by the National Security Agency (NSA). In sports, he has completed several triathlons (Escape-to-Miami, ITU San Diego, and HITS Triathlon) and has qualified to USTA Nationals Tennis Competitions in Las Vegas. Saman loves research collaborations on multidisciplinary topics, teaching and interacting with students, and hitting tennis or team runs.
