Abstract: Gina DeSimone will discuss her 30-year career at Boeing including challenges, pivots and lessons learned.
Bio: Gina DeSimone retired as a vice president from The Boeing Company in April 2012 with over 29 years of experience with Boeing in various program management, engineering and quality assurance leadership positions. Some of her roles included vice president of Division Operations at the Intelligence and Security Systems division and the Missile Defense Systems division; vice president of Engineering and Programs at Boeing Air Traffic Management; senior site executive of Boeing Huntsville; director of Marine Systems programs; director of Business Processes; director of Quality Assurance; and chief standoff weapons engineer.
DeSimone holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. In retirement, she stayed involved with the Georgia Institute of Technology having served on both the Electrical & Computer Engineering and Women in Engineering Advisory Boards. She currently helps Georgia Tech with its Transfer Year Experience program. She enjoys teaching middle school math and science as a long-term substitute and playing pickleball.
