Both Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) undergraduate programs ranked in the top five in the 2027 U.S. News and World Report undergraduate rankings.

The electrical engineering program held steady at third, and second among public universities. Computer engineering moved up to fifth, also good for second among public universities.

This marks the eighth time in nine years both programs have been ranked inside the top five at the same time.

“These rankings reflect the distinctive undergraduate experience that sets Georgia Tech ECE apart,” Steve W. Chaddick School Chair Arijit Raychowdhury said. “Students learn alongside industry partners through the Course Partnership Initiative, engage in hands-on discovery through programs like Vertically Integrated Projects and Opportunity Research Scholars, and gain access to one-of-a-kind resources such as the Hive Makerspace. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into engineering practice, we are ensuring students understand both the capabilities and limitations of these technologies while developing the strong engineering foundations that underpin future innovation.”

The College of Engineering also achieved its highest ranking ever, moving up one spot to second, making it the highest-ranked public university engineering program.
